This nicely maintained and quiet park is tucked away just off San Jose Blvd.  The park was opened in 1997 and expanded in 1998.  It’s named after Chuck Rogers who worked for the Parks and Recreation Department for years and was inducted into the Jacksonville Sports Hall Of Fame for his involvement in starting up and running youth sports leagues in the city.  The field at the park is one of many used by the Florida Elite Soccer Academy.

The park is a great place to take a walk, play sports, enjoy a picnic, and more.  Amenities include picnic areas, tables, restrooms, playground equipment and fields for sports play.

The park is located on the river side of San Jose Blvd between Loretto Road and Orange Picker Road.  The address is 11950 San Jose Blvd.  Check out this nice little oasis in Mandarin!

The Mandarin area of Jacksonville, Florida has a number of healthier grocery options.  Whole Foods Market is located on San Jose Blvd near I-295.  This large, modern store offers a wide selection of items.  Free samples of items are usually offered throughout the store which is always fun!

The store also offers a wide variety of hot and cold food items available to either eat in the on site cafe or to take out.  In addition, there is a bar area where you can enjoy beer, wine, and non alcoholic beverages.  We enjoy sipping a glass of wine here on a Saturday afternoon.  The staff at the store is amazing, and their service is extremely friendly!
