Relocating to a new city? Have a plan!

Relocating to a new city can be exciting…and overwhelming! The best way to keep it together is to set a plan for your move.

Step 1 – Create a task list

Start with a to do list of tasks that you will need to complete prior to, during, and immediately after the move. Some tasks to consider are arranging for movers, setting up temporary lodging, deciding what items to keep with you during your move, arranging for pet care, arranging the sale of your current home, making travel arrangements, establishing a relationship with a real estate professional in your new city, packing, utilities cancellation, and more.

Step 2 – Arrange a time line

Once you have your list of tasks that need to be done you will want to arrange a time line for arranging these items to be taken care of. Be sure to give yourself some “wiggle room” in the time line to anticipate any snags.

Step 3 – Implement your plan

Once you have your time line you are ready to set your plan into motion. Take one item at a time, and relax!

Remember, a good real estate professional specializing in relocation can be of great help in helping you to coordinate your move.

Relocating doesn’t have to be overly stressful, and it can be fun! Being organized helps to keep it a positive experience!
